Anno Cadaris 1012, merry moon, whitethorn and sloe in full bloom we see a boy destined for Lochlann, the land of lakes. Nathan Gilead Guy, Son of Lancair and Elainia of Corbanic. An angelic blond boy in his sixth summer.

Escorted by Sir Geofreor reaches he the shores of lake Benacht where he bids farewell to his father's trusty liege and enters the barke to the isle. The fabled isle of Carraigh, home of the Cadarian High Order of Carthannach, origin of many a god-fearing knight of Cadaris.

Educated by the white friars of Carthannach and inspired by his father's tales of godly glory a boy turned an adolescent.

Seven sais had passed and most of the of the young men he had come to know in the course of the years had happily turned their back on the monastic school of Carthannach to finally return to their home and family - eager to experience the joys of worldly life that they had missed for so long. Many of them had secretly cursed their father's will that had banned them to this place of contemplation and stringency.. unlike Nathan who was fueled by the sincere and strong desire to become what his father had always strived to be.. Cadaris most stalwart knight.

And living for this sole purpose the young man's kredo was as pure that no monk of Carthannach would stand comparison with his chastity. Next to him they all looked tarnished for none would keep the holy scriptures as he did. 'Pernickety..' ,some said, '..he taketh it all too far'. For the word of Cadaris would he carry out as his irrefutable law.

Never would he secretly break the lent or even think of it, when times got hard there came no word of complaint, no one had ever witnessed him indulging in any vice and when other boys caught the measels this one would develop stigmata, such eventually was their gibe. Nathan but overlooked their teasing with compassion, what would only madden their envious souls.

At the ninth return of Venna he had but come to the conclusion there was nothing more to learn from the brethren of Carthannach. To their all considerable relief the holy Guy, what was yet another nickname he had been given in the course of the years, packed his things to leave Carraigh for higher aims.

It was time to follow his true lord's call.. to become his true and chaste knight and knowing Nathan Gilead Guy who would have been surprised to see him being accepted as one of the fabled white knights of Cadaris only two sais after.. for nothing could lead him astray from his unquestioning faith, Sir Heron's youngest knight, and nevermore could he be defeated when it came to a duel of belief...
