Name: Lecai Minaith (Mean. Nobility of the Soul and Martial Prowess)Age: 20
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 178
Hair: Black, Long and draped over his Right Eye.
Eyes: His Left Eye is Green, and it is assumed that his Right must also be.
General Appearance: Though not unattractive, Lecai always hides almost a whole half of his face and as a result, most people who have met him both wonder at and question the appearance of this aspect of him. However, apart from the this single fact, he is generally well turned out, his hair, though long, is neat, and his clean shaven face never shows any sign of stubble, should he be able to avoid it.
Attire, Armour: Whenever he is in combat, he wears a set of armour that always gleams, echoing the pride that is within him in serving the Noble house of Teshwan. As benefits his position of knight, he bears the crest of Teshwan on a tabard. The armour itself is not as strong, thick or heavy as usual on his lower body, allowing for him to move with greater speed than other knights, at least using his legs.
Attire, Weapons + Shield: He has two swords, one that is for use with two hands, and another for use with a single hand. At any one time, he will only use and carry one of the blades, leaving the other within his quarters at the household of Teshwan. Each of blades has the same pommel and cross-guard design, being taken from the armoury of the nobles of Teshwan itself. The grip is simple leather, a blue hue dyed into it. His shield is simple wood, toughened to withstand his opponent blows, with a metal rim. The design upon the shield bears no resemblance to Teshwan at all, an ornate design of gold lines.
Attire, Non-Combat: When Lecai attends events or places where armour is either not necessary or the desired attire, he wears loose fitting, usually green robes, if the occasion is one of nobility. However, whenever it is not such a formal event, he wears a simple tunic, loose fitting, to allow himself to relax, if only for brief periods of time.
History: Born in the far East of Teshwan, Lecai was named so because of the unusual circumstances of his birth. His mother and father, both old, had been seen to have passed the age which they could have children, and as a result, the other members of the village were surprised to see that indeed Sethai, his mother had given birth to a son. This improbable birth, seen to have been blessed by Cadaris himself, resulted in the name Lecai, Nobility of the Soul, being gifted to the child.
As he grew, he had a normal childhood, seeming either to not notice, or not be troubled by, the age of his parents. Even though many of the children teased him about it, he was not ashamed of his parents, more proud perhaps than any of the other children. However, age eventually took its toll on his parents, when his father, Minaith, died in bed, when Lecai was merely 6 years old. Taking his fathers name as his second, Lecai strove to prove himself to his father memory, unable to do so, noble though his heart and intention was.
Lecai searched for an answer to his problem for 2 years until he found a knight of the name Malhandir. Seeing that the knight had no manservant, Lecai offered the knight his services, knowing merely serving the knight would prove to his father his worth. The knight didn’t merely take him as a servant, and seeing the passion within his heart took him on as a squire, a servant and ‘learner-knight’. On taking this role, Lecai began to learn the ways and manners of a knight, slowly becoming more and more like the master he served.
Even though his master was just that, and not an employer, he was no cruel man, and not only taught Lecai the ways of a knight-in-arms but also a noble, for the man was non other than the brother of Aina's mother, Morrigán McCormack, a wise yet unliked man because of some unknown reason. Even so he had noble blood all the same.
After years of training and teaching, the boy turned into a man, and aged 17, was gifted a set of armour and his first blade by his master. The blade was of tempered steel, strong as stone, and sharper than the tongue of a liar, for Lecai would take a whetstone to it every night, ensuring the blade never came into disrepair. Though he was not a knight, he was armed and armoured as well as one, and fought alongside Malhandir, surprising both himself and the knight with his ability.
Seeming to have filled his fathers name’s meaning, Skill in Arms, at last, Lecai accompanied Malhandir, still his squire, but now also his friend. Over the next few years they battled alongside each other, unstoppable both in battle and in taverns.
The tales spread in the local land, twisting and reforming until they were that a noble Knight of the house of Teshwan travelled and fought alongside his only son, a fair warrior in his own right. The younger held his father in high regard, and the elder held his son. Together they were unstoppable, but one night, when Lecai was enjoying the company of other warriors, the elder man was murdered under mysterious circumstances. Lecai came to find his knight barely alive, staying so only long enough to tell Lecai all he should.
For the second time in his life, Lecai lost a father figure, but the last words of both had stuck with him ever since.
Minaith had told him to make him proud.
Malhandir had told him to take his knighthood.
On hearing this, Lecai made his way to the noble house of Teshwan, proclaiming himself to hold the blessing of Malhandir. As a result he took up the knighthood of his second ‘father’ and became a Knight of Teshwan, knighted by Lord Uriens and backed by Aina Rohana Mairi herself.
Even though he serves officially Lord Uriens, he has found himself becoming more of knight to Aina than the Lord of Teshwan himself, mainly because of the fondness Aina had had for Malhandir, a fact shown more recently as he has begun to take the steps necessary to become one of the household guard.
