Karen was born and raised on Coruscant where she witnessed first-hand the prejudices and injustices of the Empire. At the age of ten, she joined an underground group working against this new Empire. Eventually she was caught.

Kamon and Karen were both 18 when they met. Karen was scheduled for execution by a firing squad. Kamon came to the rescue. His blasters blazed away, killing the six Imperials very quickly. He then freed her. Since then, she has been working with Kamon to fight the Empire.
