Gavin McGreggor
Gavin McGreggor - Clan McGreggor Memoirs of Queribus, Manuscript XXI:

Sleep.. swoon.. my spirit doth grant me no rest -- it doth but not matter much for i feel my time around these lands hath nearly expired. Soon must i follow the law, soon must this form inhale and decay. Still one task still lies uncompleted and i will not step back into the mist before i have thus work done -- thus is what i owe those who follow.

So i will now write down what i understood and what i intend to share with him before my journey must come to an end. Though nothing can be thaught that is not already present within the listener my words might clarify some of what he feeleth hisself.

Oh Asuraqiel after all these years i still feel thee, i feel thee oh so painfully clear -- i am sure thou art here to witness and i still carry this insane shimmer of hope to meet thee once again - mayhaps thou awaitst me in the shadows ? Alas, this undieing, cursed yearn wears me down, it threatened to affect my judgement, consumed me more and more -- i have but nourished it on an on within my bosom - so now, whether it hath been from the beginning or through the years, thou art a part of my soul and never can i abandon thy memory.

Still, after all the things i have learned - after everything i have understood -- And who else should know it if not i ? I, the guardian. I, the keeper of the ould order. I myself have violated the law for i could not let go on thee when thy time had come. Thus is my sin - thus is why i must suffer.

Love - is such a terrible weapon, that oh so easily turns against thineself -- a perilous emotion to bind the strong and the weak, a blindfold and velvetsheated chains; that is why i refrained from wielding it ever after -- to not plant such deadly weakness into my offspring's mind.

Were there but one precious last encounter, could i only -- but nay, i must now let go of such madness. Too long have i affected fylgja through thus unhealthy state of mind -- much too long to leave him unaffected. I must take this burden with me when i go - i must purify fylgja to free him from this tainted legacy, for my sin must not be handed down with his blood. I must perform the rite. First of course i have to see to it that nothing remains undone.

In the beginning there was the UN

i call it the UN
for it was yet unborn, unshaped, undivided, unlimited
and could hereby not be named by a human, dualistic mind

i call it the UN
as this term might as well stand for the 'universal nature'
for it was beyond everything we do know, perfect in its nature
and as it can not be imagined by a human, dualistic mind
we can only describe it through what it is not
and might continue our description through the LESS
for it was ageless, timeless, deathless yet liveless

the life as we know it began when the UN was devided
through the power of discrimination
and split into two poles
from this day on there was tension

tension but caused the energy to flow
and fueled the creation of the four elements
by the name of Earth, Air, Fire and Water
and to the fifth element, the Spirit.

These art to be found all around us
the Earth in the soil and rocks;
the Air in the winds and atmosphere;
the Fire as the lightning, fires, and electricity;
the Water in the springs, rivers, oceans, rain, and other waters on the planet;
the Spirit as Divine Unity
which is the spiritual force that connects all.

Thou also findest these Elements as aspects of Self --
the physical body and physiology is the Earth;
the intellect and thoughts art the Air;
the will and actions art the Fire;
the emotions and feelings art the Water;
and thy Inner Self, thy Soul, is thy Spirit.

Still all the five elements are existent amongst the two poles
the two maximum and the minimum of every known feature
as there might be named
female and male as the attributes of the feature we call gender
low and high as attributes of heighth
darkness and light as attributes of luminous intensity
wet and dry as attributes of humidity

Neither of the attributes is to be favoured over the other
for both art vital to thy life
once thou furtherest one over the other
thou enter a state of imbalance
and, how thou knowest, what is out of balance
can more easily fall.

In the end everything must follow the law.
