Danba
Tree

The Danba Tree is
a huge deciduous tree with enormous air-roots (?). It bears
big blossoms during 4 months a year, which are glowing in
an intense light red. The wood of the Danba Tree is popular
for the making of furniture because of its nice dark color
and its nice grain, as well because of its immense durability.
There can be made a brew from the blossoms, which is used
much in traditional gungan medicine cause of its antiseptic
effect. After bloom, the tree bears great fruit, which are
very nutritious and tasty.

Dsandan Tree
|
This relatively small tree is only found on higher
grounds, like the Gallo Mountains. Its knotty and twisted
growth makes the wood unsuitable for use in buildings and
furniture, but it pours a pleasant smell because of which
it is very popular. Its dark-green leaves are slim and very
sturdy, and the bark is thick and rough.

Meleas Flower
|
The Meleas is a small flower with yellow,
star-shaped blossoms and fine round leaves. They bloom from
spring to late autumn. A brew from the dried blossoms is
a good cure for fever. The flowers prefer damp ground, so
they can be found almost everywhere in the swamps of Naboo,
but there are some places, like the hill called Marvel Mountain,
where they also grow on quite dry ground.

Black Feather
|
Low bush with 5 - 30 cm long leaves, which
look like black feathers. The leaves are waterproof. This
bush is mostly found on the edges of the swamps. |

Gambo Tree
|
The gambos branches and bark are run through
with cracks and holes which produce sounds like the moaning
and wailing of hundreds of tormented souls when the wind
blows through. The tree has a thick, short trunk and little
leaves on long, flexible twigs (something like a weeping
willow).

Swamp Strangler
|
This is probably the most dangerous
plant that can be found on Naboo. The Old Swamp Strangler
looks almost like the Danba Tree, except it doesn't grow
that huge. Some of its roots are like tentacles with thorns
on their ends. The tree is able to sense the presence of
living beings nearby through body warmth and the carbon
dioxide output from their lungs. It strikes with lightning
speed and stuns its prey with a strong poison, then pulls
it into the middle of its roots, where its decomposed by
a secretion while staying at full consciousness.

| Momma's
Apron
|
The branches of this slender
coniferous tree reach down to the ground. Because its twigs
only grow outwards, there's a kind of cave under the branches
in which one can camp marvellously. One can even set up
a camp fire inside this 'cave', because Momma's Apron produces
a fireproof resin which covers the whole tree and saves
it from burning down.
